Drafted in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings, Johnson later joined the Indiana Pacers, playing two seasons before embarking on a global basketball career that included stints in the Philippines, China, Russia, Lebanon, Bosnia, Taiwan, Australia, and Mongolia.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the new role, Johnson stated, “I’m incredibly excited to be here and be part of this team and staff. It’s a true honor to step in as General Manager, and I’m grateful for the opportunity. Reuniting with Dave, a childhood friend and teammate, makes this experience even more special to start a new beginning here at WSU. I look forward to contributing to our roster decisions and supporting the continued development of our student-athletes here on and off the court.”

Johnson’s appointment is a significant boost for the program, and many are eager to see how his international experience and player development skills will influence the next season. His return to his roots is a proud moment for the local community, showcasing the success that can come from dedication and hard work in sports.
