Ghostface is poised to make a chilling return, and this time, he comes face-to-face with the iconic survivor, Sidney Prescott. Paramount has unveiled the second trailer for the eagerly awaited Scream 7, teasing a new Ghostface killer whose actions will reverberate through the lives of those close to Sidney, including her daughter, Tatum, played by Isabel May. Notably, Tatum is named after Sidney’s late friend from the original 1996 film, creating an intriguing connection to the franchise’s roots.
The latest trailer is set to make its debut during the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 8, with tickets for the film going on sale starting February 9. Scream 7 will make history as the first in the franchise to be presented in IMAX, promising an immersive horror experience for fans.
The previous trailer, released on October 30, showcased Ghostface targeting Sidney and her daughter, with Sidney imparting crucial survival tips to Tatum in this latest chapter of their harrowing saga. The beloved Courteney Cox will also reprise her role as the relentless reporter Gale Weathers, who declares her determination to “unmask this fucker” in the trailer.
This seventh installment is particularly significant as it sees the return of Neve Campbell, who plays Sidney Prescott, marking her comeback after skipping out on Scream VI due to salary disputes. Her return has been highly anticipated among fans eager to see the franchise’s final girl back in action.
While Campbell’s return has sparked excitement, there have been significant changes in the cast. Notably, stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, who featured prominently in Scream (2022) and Scream VI, will not be part of this film. Barrera was reportedly let go following her social media comments regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict, prompting Ortega to exit voluntarily in solidarity. The film also experienced a shakeup in direction as Christopher Landon stepped away due to fan backlash over Barrera’s departure.
Returning alongside Campbell are franchise staples David Arquette as Dewey Riley and Matthew Lillard, who steps back into the role of original co-Ghostface killer Stu Macher. The film will also feature Scott Foley reprising his role as Roman Bridger from Scream 3, along with the revival film characters Chad and Mindy, portrayed by Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown.
Scream 7 will also introduce a host of newcomers to the franchise, with actors such as Michelle Randolph, Joel McHale, Anna Camp, Mckenna Grace, Ethan Embry, Mark Consuelos, Jimmy Tatro, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, and Sam Rechner joining the ensemble.
The script for this installment has been penned by franchise veteran Kevin Williamson alongside Guy Busick, who previously wrote for Scream and Scream VI. James Vanderbilt is serving as the producer, with the Radio Silence team, including Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, and Chad Villella, taking on executive production roles.
Fans can expect to see Scream 7 hit theaters on February 27, 2026, promising another round of thrills and chills in the beloved horror series.
