SCRANTON — The 2024 Scranton Fringe Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary with a vibrant showcase of culture, creativity, and community. From September 26 to October 5, attendees can enjoy a diverse array of theater, music, art, film, and discotheques at various locations throughout the city.

This year’s program features a broad spectrum of presentations by various creators, aiming to promote the performing arts in Northeastern Pennsylvania (NEPA) and to create an inclusive environment for all artists.

Co-founders Conor Kelly O’Brien and Elizabeth Bohan drew inspiration from the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival, striving to create a venue to present creative works specific to Lackawanna County and its neighboring areas.

Among the exciting events this year is the “Battle of the Bards” at The VSpot, where four local playwrights will write a short play within two days, with performances occurring on the same night. The festival will also host a Silent Disco on September 27 at the Everhart Museum, providing a unique experience where guests dance to music streamed through headphones.

The “Art For All” closing reception is set for October 4 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the AFA Gallery, featuring an exhibition on display from September 20 through October 6.

The festival promises an eclectic mix of entertainment, combining humor, suspense, and excitement.
