Scoot’s SG60 Push: Travel, Culture and Family Bonding Across Generations

Scoot’s SG60 push highlights culture and kinship through curated travel experiences

Singapore’s 60th anniversary is being celebrated with more than fireworks, as Scoot unveils the third edition of its National Day initiative, Pushing Boundaries, Connecting Generations. The program, aligned with SG60’s nation-building theme, invites families and friends to explore beyond the usual, using travel to strengthen bonds and create lasting memories.

The campaign partners with local content creators Charmaine Yee, Pamela Lee Shuhadah, and J Jaikishan to curate journeys to Ipoh, Perth, and Shantou. Each destination was chosen for its authentic cultural heritage and understated charm: batik painting in Ipoh, sandboarding in Perth, and traditional kueh making in Shantou. The idea is to slow down, share experiences, and deepen connections with loved ones through hands-on cultural encounters.

“Travel is more than getting from one place to another. It’s about forging connections, creating memories, and reflecting on the journeys that shape us,” said Agatha Yap, Scoot’s Director of Marketing, Communications and Loyalty. “As a homegrown brand, this campaign celebrates stepping out of one’s comfort zone—whether across borders or in our relationships—and hopes to inspire more people to reconnect with those who matter through travel.”

Alongside the experiential campaigns, Scoot is offering SG60 promotional fares to 60 destinations, available from 6 to 8 August 2025 for travel starting 18 August. KrisFlyer members booking between 15 and 17 August can earn 60% more bonus miles. Aviation enthusiasts and design lovers are also invited to view a limited-edition aircraft model created in collaboration with LASALLE College of the Arts. The model features vibrant patterns inspired by traditional Southeast Asian umbrellas, reflecting the region’s cultural diversity and the intersection of art and travel.

What makes this initiative notable
– Culture-forward travel: Each destination pairing combines a hands-on activity with cultural learning, encouraging travelers to make meaningful connections with locals and family.
– Generous promotions: A focused window for promotional fares and a special miles boost for loyalty members add value for travelers planning ahead.
– Creative collaboration: The LASALLE-designed aircraft model blends art and travel, serving as a tangible reminder of SG60’s celebration of heritage and creativity.

Why it matters for readers
– It nudges families to plan experiences that prioritize togetherness and shared learning, a timely message as people look for meaningful ways to celebrate national milestones.
– It supports domestic and regional tourism by spotlighting culturally rich, lesser-tilled destinations alongside familiar cities.
– It demonstrates how brands can commemorate national anniversaries through storytelling, heritage-driven experiences, and creative partnerships.

A hopeful note
Scoot’s SG60 campaign reinforces a positive narrative around travel as a connector rather than just a means of transport. By pairing culture-rich itineraries with commemorative design and loyalty perks, the effort aims to inspire people to build memories with their loved ones while exploring Singapore’s wider region.

In brief, Scoot’s Pushing Boundaries, Connecting Generations program uses culture, family, and curated experiences to celebrate SG60 in a way that goes beyond discounts, inviting travelers to discover authentic moments across Ipoh, Perth, and Shantou, all while honoring the nation’s 60-year journey.
