Parents and guardians seeking the Government’s $200 back-to-school assistance will soon find the application verification process more accommodating, thanks to a recent announcement from Education Minister Aseri Radrodro. Heads of schools have been granted the authority to sign application forms, alongside Justices of the Peace, which will significantly ease accessibility for families.
In a speech directed at parents, Radrodro emphasized the intention behind this adjustment is to streamline the application process. “I reassure parents who are looking for Justices of the Peace to sign the back-to-school forms that, as announced, heads of schools can also sign these forms,” he stated, highlighting the reduction of barriers in the verification process.
The newly authorized school heads will now play a critical role in verifying the accuracy of the submitted information from parents and guardians. This change is particularly beneficial for families residing in rural and maritime regions, where access to Justices of the Peace can be limited.
The application period for the 2026 back-to-school assistance opened on November 11 and will continue until December 12, providing families ample time to complete their applications. This revised process comes amid ongoing discussions about the program, as inaccuracies in submitted applications—such as erroneous identification numbers—have previously led to delays in assistance.
