The Army Green side and Tagimoucia Ranadi are leading the Fiji Bitter 7s Series as they head towards the upcoming tournament in Savusavu, which is set to take place at Ganilau Park from February 5th to February 7th. In the men’s standings, Army holds the top position with 2,147.9 points, closely followed by Village Boys at 2,070.95 points, with Vacalea trailing in third. On the women’s side, Tagimoucia Ranadi leads with 2,000 points, while Sinukakala Amazons sits at 1,400 points and Loloma Heights follows with 1,080 points.
The Savusavu tournament aims to promote grassroots participation and reinforce competitive structures, focusing on community engagement during the three-day event. This year, there is a noteworthy emphasis on encouraging more teams from Savusavu and Vanua Levu, accompanied by an increase in prize money for bowl and shield divisions. Pita Ralaca, the tournament organizer, announced that 32 men’s teams, 8 women’s teams, and 16 under-21 teams will participate this year, demonstrating a commitment to creating pathways for aspiring athletes across all divisions.
