San Diego County is set to experience dry and slightly warmer weather throughout the week, accompanied by breezy conditions in the coastal mountain slopes and deserts, as reported by forecasters on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, coastal areas will see cloudy skies with temperatures ranging from 66 to 70 degrees. Inland areas will enjoy warmer conditions, reaching around 72 degrees. Patchy fog is anticipated to blanket the valleys, where temperatures will range from 73 to 76 in the western valleys and 76 to 81 near the foothills.

The mountains will experience warm and windy conditions, with highs expected between 76 and 86 degrees, while desert regions will be hot and windy, with temperatures soaring between 96 and 100 degrees.

A small craft advisory remains in effect due to strong sea winds, applicable until at least 2 a.m. Tuesday for waters extending from San Mateo Point to the Mexican border, covering 10 to 60 nautical miles out, including San Clemente Island. Additionally, a beach hazard statement has been issued for coastal San Diego County.

The surf forecast for Tuesday indicates a moderate risk of rip currents, with surf heights between 2 to 4 feet and mixed swells from 270 and 210 degrees. Marine forecasters anticipate northwest wind gusts of 20 to 25 knots in the outer coastal waters near San Clemente Island. Fortunately, no hazardous marine conditions are expected from Tuesday through Friday.

The National Weather Service has indicated that night and morning low clouds and fog are likely to persist throughout much of the upcoming week, providing a reminder of San Diego’s unique coastal climate.

Overall, the continuation of mild weather offers residents and visitors an opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities while staying cautious of marine conditions along the coast.
