SAN ANTONIO – Following an unusually warm Saturday, residents can expect significant weather changes starting Sunday. A strong cold front is forecasted to sweep through the region between 1:00 AM and 4:00 AM, bringing with it gusty north winds ranging from 35 to over 40 mph. These winds are expected to persist throughout the day, with afternoon gusts still reaching up to 30 mph.

A Wind Advisory will be in effect from 3:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sunday. The combination of strong winds and low humidity is likely to create hazardous fire conditions across South Texas, prompting a Red Flag Warning from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM the same day.

In addition to the winds, temperatures will drop noticeably on Sunday, with highs forecasted in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees. By Monday morning, the cooler air will settle in further, with temperatures expected to drop to the mid to upper 30s. Some areas, particularly in the Hill Country, may experience frost or, in some spots, a freeze. The afternoon on Monday will see a high of only 61 to 65 degrees with clear skies overhead.

Tuesday morning will also start off cold, lingering in the middle 30s, but a quick warm-up is anticipated later in the week, with temperatures climbing back into the 80s by Wednesday.

Following a sunny and hot Saturday, where highs ranged from 88 to 92 degrees with light south winds, the transition to cooler weather highlights the dynamic nature of Texas weather—often shifting unexpectedly. As temperatures fluctuate, residents are reminded to stay safe in the shifting conditions and be aware of fire risks during windy days.

Stay tuned for updates and be prepared for the cooler temperatures and strong winds headed our way.
