Samsung’s Game-Changing Update: What You Need to Know About One UI 8 and New Devices!

Samsung is in the process of rolling out its latest software update, One UI 7, while simultaneously preparing for One UI 8, expected to launch this summer. With each major update, certain devices phase out of support, and One UI 7 follows this trend.

Recent reports clarify which Samsung Galaxy A smartphones will not be receiving One UI 8, built on Android 16. The models set to receive the update include the Galaxy A73, A56, A55, A54, A53, A36, A35, A34, A33, A26, A25, A24, as well as the LTE and 5G versions of the Galaxy A16, A15, and A06. Devices not listed are unlikely to get the update, but users should await official confirmation before making decisions on upgrading.

The precise rollout timeline remains vague, simply mentioned as “this summer,” which spans from June to September. Interestingly, alongside the One UI 8 release, Samsung is anticipated to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 foldable smartphones, with leaked information suggesting their launch could occur next month, shortly after the expected release of Android 16.

Unlike its predecessor, One UI 7, One UI 8 is described as more compact, allowing for a quicker development cycle. Samsung has already initiated public beta testing for the update and provided a tentative release schedule, a move that reflects greater confidence compared to last year. Early updates for Galaxy S25 users have already begun under the One UI 8 beta program. This new firmware is believed to launch alongside the new foldable devices, featuring advanced AI-based capabilities.

Additionally, Samsung recently announced the Galaxy S25 Edge, which offers specifications closely rivaling those of the S25 Plus but is housed in a sleeker and lighter design. However, some concerns have been raised regarding this model’s missing telephoto lens and its reduced battery capacity which might impact usability.

The anticipation around these updates and new device releases highlights Samsung’s ongoing commitment to innovation and user satisfaction. With promising new features on the horizon, consumers can look forward to enhancements that may significantly improve their smartphone experience.
