The company revealed that the folding screen can withstand 60,000 folds at -20 degrees Celsius, which is a noteworthy enhancement from the Galaxy Z Fold 5’s rating of 30,000 folds at the same low temperature. This means that users living in colder climates can expect a more resilient device, with the Z Fold 7 capable of daily folds translating to over four years of usage.
In terms of hot weather performance, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 performs even better, with a rating of 300,000 folds at a sweltering 60 degrees Celsius. This is double the capacity of both the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, which were rated for 150,000 folds at the same high temperature.
While Samsung recommends using its devices within a 0 to 35 degrees Celsius range to protect against potential damage and ensure battery longevity, the improved durability of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 presents a considerable benefit for users who experience fluctuations beyond this recommended range.
