Samantha Irvin, the voice of “WWE Raw” on USA Network, announced on Monday via social media platform X that she will be stepping down as the ring announcer for the wrestling show.
She expressed her deep appreciation for her fans, stating, “I love you all tremendously, and this does not mark the end of my art; I have a lifetime more to share.” Irvin did not provide details regarding her departure.
In her message, she thanked various individuals in WWE, including the female roster, the behind-the-scenes team, Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, and the wrestlers themselves. Irvin emphasized the uniqueness of WWE entertainment, saying, “There is no form of entertainment like this and not just any entertainer can be a WWE Superstar.”
Samantha Irvin, born Samantha Johnson, hails from New Bedford. Her journey in the spotlight began with her remarkable singing talent, which earned her a spot as a semi-finalist on Season 10 of “America’s Got Talent.” She also showcased her skills on FOX’s “I Can See Your Voice” and performed in Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas.
In 2021, she achieved her dream of becoming a ring announcer with WWE on “205 Live.” Irvin, a longtime wrestling enthusiast, shared that she would watch WWE content as a child, writing her commentary in a notebook.
In addition to her role on “Raw,” she also announced events for WWE SmackDown and earned praise for her performance during WrestleMania 40 in April. Legendary announcer Michael Buffer acclaimed her work, noting her perfect timing and energy.
As for her future, Irvin is engaged to professional wrestler Trevor Dean Mann, known as Ricochet, who recently joined All Elite Wrestling. While she did not confirm whether she would follow her fiancé to AEW, she concluded her message with a hint of future plans, saying, “To my fans, my entire career I’ve been waiting for you! We are meant to be and I can prove it. Stay tuned…”
