Former Ba and Fiji national football representative, Salen Lal, has been appointed the head coach of Nadi FC ahead of the upcoming FMF Inter-District Championship at Govind Park, Ba. Nadi FA president, Mohammed Mohin, expressed confidence in Lal’s leadership, stating that his experience and understanding of the local game would inject new energy and direction into the side, which aims to make a significant impact in this prestigious tournament.
“Salen Lal is a proven leader who understands the local game at the highest level. His expertise as both a player and a coach will be invaluable as we aim to make a strong statement at the FMF IDC,” said Mohin. Alongside this appointment, the association is working on securing clearance for overseas players through the International Transfer Certificate process. This initiative aims to enhance the squad’s depth and quality, with hopes that these international talents will bring additional experience to the campaign.
Nadi will kick off their Group A campaign with a match against defending champions Extra Supermarket Labasa FC on Tuesday at 3:30 pm. Following that, they will face Power Volt Suva at 2 pm next Wednesday, culminating their pool stage with a much-anticipated showdown against 4R Electric Lautoka FC on Sunday at 6 pm.
