Ryan Seacrest has shared the sad news that his father, Gary Lee Seacrest, has passed away following a lengthy battle with prostate cancer. The host of “Wheel of Fortune” made the announcement via Instagram on Friday, revealing that his father “peacefully passed away earlier this week.” Ryan expressed that his family finds solace in the belief that Gary is now “in a better place and free of any pain or suffering.”

In his emotional post, which included several family photos, Ryan directly addressed his father, stating, “Dad, you will live in our hearts forever. I love you.” Earlier this year, Ryan had spoken candidly about his father’s health struggles on his radio show, “On Air with Ryan Seacrest.” He revealed that Gary had been quietly battling prostate cancer for several years, and unfortunately, the treatments had been ineffective.

Reflecting on the difficult times during his father’s illness, Ryan recounted a poignant moment when he learned of Gary being in the ICU while filming an episode of “American Idol,” leading to a critical conversation with doctors regarding his father’s condition.

Gary Seacrest was married to Marie Zullinger for 55 years. He is survived by her, along with his son Ryan, daughter Meredith Seacrest, her husband Jimmy Leach, and their daughter Flora Leach. Gary Seacrest was 81 years old.

This profound loss has resonated deeply with Ryan and his family, highlighting the importance of cherishing loved ones as they navigate through life’s challenges together.
