The RT Xtreme Taekwondo Summer Camp held at Sanatan Hall on Rewa Street achieved impressive participation this year, with over 50 students attending the four-day event. The camp was led by head instructor Pranit Kumar and Grand Master Andy Rutten, who traveled from Adelaide to share their expertise in the sport.
This marks the camp’s third edition, with a notable expansion in duration from two days in previous years to four this time around. Kumar expressed his satisfaction with the growth, stating, “When we started our first summer camp last year with just 20 students, I’m happy to report we have more than doubled that to over 50 participants this year, which is excellent progress for our camp.”
Kumar emphasized that the focus of the camp is primarily on the development of the students, many of whom are at lower belt levels. “It’s wonderful to see the passion these kids have for the sport,” he noted. The camp featured a blend of both modern and traditional Taekwondo teachings, allowing students to benefit significantly from Grand Master Rutten’s extensive knowledge and experience.
Additionally, Kumar highlighted the importance of self-defense skills, noting that Taekwondo can be an invaluable asset in a variety of situations.
The summer camp is set to conclude today, leaving a lasting impact on all participants and fostering a growing interest in Taekwondo within the community.
