Excitement filled the air at the National Netball Centre in Laucala Bay on Tuesday night as round five of the second season of the 2025 Suva Netball Association’s Business House League unfolded. The highlight of the evening was the Ministry of Housing’s netball team, which posted the highest score of the round by defeating Kelton Investment 19-13 in their Pool Three match on court number four.
Since the inception of the league, the level of competition has significantly ramped up, with a noticeable decrease in team participation indicating the rise of more formidable corporate teams. In the opening round, the league utilized three courts where the Ministry of Health managed a 13-all draw against Southern Education on court one. Meanwhile, the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) suffered a defeat of 6-14 against the Water Authority of Fiji on court two, while the Ministry of Housing edged out Carpenters with a narrow 9-8 victory.
Moving into the second round, IHG rebounded with a strong performance, emerging victorious against the Australian High Commission, winning 12-8 on court one. The Nasinu Medics showed their skills with a resounding 15-2 win over Capital Insurance on court two. Furthermore, the Ministry of Housing continued to demonstrate their competitiveness, drawing 11-all with Recoveries Corporation Ltd (RCL).
The intensity of the matches has been consistent, as illustrated in round three where Newworld IGA faced IHG and narrowly lost 8-11. The Ministry of Health was outpaced by Southern Cross, finishing with a score of 6-12. The Nasinu Medics further emphasized their dominance with a commendable 14-10 victory over FNU Nasinu.
As round four progressed, the Ministry of Housing secured yet another win against Kelton Investment, while FNU Nasinu narrowly triumphed over Capital Insurance with a scoreline of 9-7. The Nasinu Medics continued to showcase their prowess, achieving an impressive 18-11 victory over the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF). Additionally, Central Teachers gained a victory by default against the Australian High Commission.
