Rose Namajunas cruised to a dominant victory over Tracy Cortez in the main event of UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Denver, inching closer to a title fight with a unanimous decision win in the women’s flyweight division.
Namajunas (13-6) outstruck Cortez (11-2) with a total of 119 to 85 strikes and recorded over six minutes of control time. Ranked ninth in the 125-pound category, the former strawweight champion demonstrated superior striking and grappling skills.
Namajunas, who has lived in Denver for the past decade, used her striking ability to dominate Cortez in the early rounds and took control with her grappling in the middle rounds. Judged with scores of 49-46, 49-46, and 48-47, Namajunas secured her second consecutive win after losing her flyweight debut against Manon Fiorot in 2023.
