VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Music lovers are flocking to Daytona Beach for the highly anticipated Rockville, North America’s largest rock festival, drawing over 200,000 attendees from around the globe each year.
With rising temperatures a key concern for organizers, this year’s festival will feature significantly enhanced safety measures. “We will have three times the shade structures compared to last year, with 50% more free water available throughout the venue, and professional misting stations to keep everyone cool,” stated Chamie McCurry, General Manager of Danny Wimmer Presents.
The Daytona International Speedway is being transformed into the “World Center of Rock,” with crews hard at work setting up stages and conducting final sound checks ahead of performances by headlining acts such as Linkin Park, Shinedown, and Green Day. Since moving to Daytona Beach in 2021, the festival has seen steady 10% growth each year, and McCurry predicts this year will see record-breaking attendance with 55,000 people expected daily.
In addition to the music and festivities, attendees will see increased security measures. Following last year’s incidents that involved a South American gang stealing from over 500 concert-goers, Border Patrol Agents will assist the Volusia Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Mike Chitwood noted, “We made 8 arrests last year, with 7 individuals having entered the country illegally. This year, we are grateful for the help from Border Patrol, and we are taking proactive steps to ensure everyone’s safety.”
The festival kicks off on Thursday and runs through Sunday, promising a thrilling experience for fans.
