Rock the Country has announced the cancellation of its planned event in Anderson, South Carolina, originally set for July 25-26. Organizers attributed the decision to “unforeseen circumstances,” disappointing many who were looking forward to the festival’s return.
The Anderson County Administrator expressed regret over the cancellation but highlighted the festival’s successful past two years, where it attracted tens of thousands of visitors and generated a significant multi-million-dollar economic impact on the region. “Anderson County has been proud to host Rock the Country for the past two years. The event was a huge success, showcasing what a great venue and exceptional hospitality we have here,” the Administrator stated. They reassured the community that plans are underway for upcoming major events, aiming to continue providing high-quality arts and entertainment.
Ticket holders are offered two alternatives: they may transfer their tickets to another Rock the Country location while receiving a $50 merchandise voucher, or they can request a full refund through a provided form.
The Anderson festival lineup was set to feature prominent artists, including Kid Rock and Jason Aldean, as well as other notable acts like Shinedown, Brantley Gilbert, and Ludacris. However, on Friday, Shinedown announced via social media that they would not perform at the festival.
While the cancellation is disappointing for fans and the local economy, the commitment from Anderson County to celebrate arts and entertainment suggests that there are still exciting times ahead for the community.
