Rock Fest is set to deliver an exciting lineup of rock music next week, promising three days of electrifying performances featuring both established artists and emerging talent. This year’s festival is themed “Our Motherfest’n Reunion,” a nod to the event’s rich history and community spirit.
The festival kicks off with headliner Rob Zombie returning to the stage after a hiatus. Known for his unique blend of horror and sci-fi influences, Zombie has captivated audiences with hits like “More Human than Human” and “Creature of the Wheel.”
On Friday, the crowd can look forward to a set from heavy-metal powerhouse Five Finger Death Punch, who are famous for tracks such as “Remember Everything” and “Wash It All Away.” The lineup culminates on Saturday with the rising metal band Bad Omens, performing fan favorites like “Just Pretend” and “The Worst in Me.” Additionally, a “Bonus Bash” will showcase bands such as Drowning Pool and Born of Osiris, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Rock Fest promoter Wade Asher highlighted the event’s evolution, noting they have refreshed their branding while retaining the festival’s beloved essence. “This will be our 31st rendition of Rock Fest, so it’ll be a big year. We still have that nature of Rock Fest that everybody loves and knows,” he remarked.
The festivities extend beyond music, featuring a full kickboxing tournament with over 100 fighters, photo opportunities, and unique art installations, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the festival.
Rock Fest began as a classic rock event shortly after the launch of its country-oriented counterpart, Country Fest, in 1994. Over the years, it has grown into the largest rock and camping event in the United States, hosting renowned acts like Aerosmith, Slipknot, and Mötley Crüe. Asher emphasized the festival’s attempt to include a variety of genres in the lineup, aiming to surprise fans with unexpected performers. This year’s inclusion of Ja Rule exemplifies that goal.
Building a welcoming environment for both fans and artists, Asher expressed pride in the festival’s growth over the years. “We’ve built an infrastructure over time, and now artists call us to come play, even the headliners. They know they’re going to have a good day,” he said.
As Rock Fest celebrates its history and continues to innovate, it remains a testament to the power of music to bring people together in a unique and cherished setting. The combination of rock music and unique activities promises an unforgettable experience for attendees.
