River Plate’s Lineup Shuffle: Key Changes for Quarterfinal Clash!

River Plate is set to face Platense at the Monumental Stadium in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Apertura Tournament. Coach Marcelo Gallardo has made three adjustments to the starting lineup compared to the team that faced Independiente del Valle in the CONMEBOL Libertadores.

Fresh from a resounding victory over the Ecuadorian team, which secured their place in the Copa’s round of 16, River Plate quickly turns its focus back to domestic competition. The team aims to reach the semifinals, where they would potentially meet San Lorenzo.

Gallardo’s changes include the return of Enzo Pérez, Paulo Díaz, and Marcos Acuña, who will replace Germán Pezzella, Milton Casco, and Giuliano Galoppo, respectively. Acuña returns after being omitted from the last matchday’s squad, while Pérez made a brief appearance in the last game.

Additionally, Gallardo is awaiting the medical clearance for ‘Pity’ Martínez, who has rejoined training with the team.

The finalized lineup for River against Platense includes: Franco Armani; Fabricio Bustos, Lucas Martínez Quarta, Paulo Díaz, Marcos Acuña; Nacho Fernández, Enzo Pérez, Kevin Castaño; Franco Mastantuono, Facundo Colidio, and Sebastián Driussi.

With a strong lineup and recent momentum, River Plate is poised to put forth a competitive performance, highlighting their commitment to both league and cup ambitions.
