“Rising Stars Shine Bright in NBA Summer League Debut”

LAS VEGAS, Nv. – Reed Sheppard made a significant impact in his debut NBA Summer League game.

With Sheppard scoring 23 points, the Rockets secured a 99-80 victory over the Lakers.

Sheppard’s performance included shooting 4-6 from three-point range, along with four rebounds, five assists, one steal, and three blocks.

In the game’s first possession, Sheppard showcased his playmaking ability by assisting Cam Whitmore.

He registered his first points with a three-pointer in the opening quarter and finished the quarter with three points and two assists.

In the second quarter, Sheppard contributed a block and another three-pointer. A technical free throw pushed his first-half tally to seven points. By halftime, he had seven points, one rebound, three assists, and two blocks.

Sheppard began the second half with a steal and later added his fourth three-pointer from 29 feet out. By the end of the third quarter, the Rockets led 80-61, with Sheppard contributing 12 points, one rebound, and one steal in that quarter alone.

Meanwhile, Dalton Knecht, the 2024 Southeastern Conference Player of the Year, scored a game-high 25 points in his NBA Summer League debut. Knecht also added six rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block.
