At the age of 19, Naomi Tegu has quickly risen through the ranks in rugby league, recently earning her place on the Fiji Bulikula squad. This selection is a significant milestone for Tegu, who only began her rugby career in 2023. Grateful for the opportunity, she credits national coach Wise Kativerata for recognizing her potential.
“I started playing rugby league in 2023, and I’m very happy to have been noticed by coach Wise,” Tegu expressed. Despite encountering challenges along her journey, her determination remained steadfast as she focused on her ambition to debut for the Bulikula. “There were some obstacles, but they did not deter me,” she reflected, highlighting her resilient spirit.
