Richard Gere is set to join an impressive cast in “The Off Weeks,” an upcoming limited series produced by Apple TV+. The series will feature Jessica Chastain and Ben Stiller, both of whom are also executive producers. Directed by Michael Showalter, known for his work on “The Dropout,” “The Off Weeks” will consist of eight episodes.
This announcement adds another prominent name to Apple TV’s roster, which has been steadily expanding with high-profile projects. Last year marked the announcement of “The Off Weeks,” which is the third collaboration between Apple and Stiller, following successful series like “Severance.”
Notably, this project was initially expected to be Chastain’s second venture with Apple TV after her show “The Savant” was unexpectedly pulled from the schedule. In “The Off Weeks,” Stiller takes on the role of a writing professor who navigates a tumultuous divorce, while Chastain’s character becomes intertwined in his life.
Gere will portray a character named Jonathan, joining the already confirmed cast members Arian Moayed from “Succession” and Annaleigh Ashford from “American Crime Story.” While a release date for the series has yet to be announced, anticipation is building as Apple TV+ continues to deliver compelling content in a competitive streaming market.
Apple TV+ is available for $12.99 per month and includes a variety of acclaimed shows and movies such as “The Morning Show,” “Shrinking,” and “Silo,” making it a noteworthy destination for fans of quality television.
