Rewa House Clinches Druavesi Trophy as Fiji Alumni Golf Classic Breaks Attendance Record

Rewa House triumphed at the 2025 QVSOB Druavesi Golf Tournament, clinching the prestigious Druavesi Trophy at the Fiji Golf Club in Suva. With a combined score of 116 points from its two teams, Rewa House outperformed its closest competitors to claim the title.

The winning team comprised notable alumni, including Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, Tomasi Tuitoga, Trevor Nainoca, and Jiujiu Leca from Rewa One, along with Alipate Vosaicake, Tupou Leca, DA Echo, and Serevi Vanalagi from Rewa Two. Verata House finished in a close second with 118.125 points, followed by Tovata House at 127.875 points and Bau House at 129.125 points.

The overall competition saw Grammar Lions take first place with a score of 55.38, made up of players Sikipio Fihaki, Laisa Digitaki, Masi Naupoto, and Samu Ratubuli. Following them, Marist Two claimed second place with 55.875 points, while Rewa Two, consisting of Vosaicake, Leca, Vanalagi, and Echo, completed the top three with 56.75 points.

This year’s tournament was remarkable, marking its 32nd edition and attracting a record 92 participants across 23 teams, demonstrating the event’s growing popularity and community support among alumni. The QVS Old Boys Association organized the tournament as part of a broader initiative to promote unity and nation-building, involving former students from various schools beyond just Queen Victoria School.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, an alumnus of Queen Victoria School, praised the tournament’s role in fostering community spirit. He emphasized its significance as a platform for alumni to reconnect and contribute ideas for Fiji’s development. He encouraged greater involvement in future tournaments, particularly from the families of alumni, highlighting the event as not merely a golf competition but a celebration of friendships and community engagement.

With participation from teams representing several schools, including Marist Old Boys, Suva Grammar School, and others, the tournament showcased inclusivity and camaraderie among alumni, reinforcing the positive impact of sports on community ties and future generation engagement in these cherished traditions. The success of the 2025 Druavesi Golf Tournament sets a hopeful precedent for even greater participation and enjoyment in the years to come.
