Rewa Gears Up for IDC 2025: Only the Fittest Will Prevail

Rewa Gears Up for IDC 2025 Group B Clash with Ba

Rewa Football Club’s assistant coach, Priyant Mannu, is preparing for a challenging yet exciting journey in the upcoming 2025 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC), with confidence that only the fittest teams will rise to the occasion. The Delta Tigers have made an impactful impression this season, having reached the finals in both the Fiji Fact and Battle of the Giants tournaments. As they look ahead to the IDC, Mannu remains optimistic but realistic about the obstacles they will face in a competitive pool that includes several top teams, notably the hosts, Ba.

Mannu shared his insights on the tough competition stating, “It’s a good pool; all the top eight teams are in it, and being in the same pool against Ba will be a challenge. So, we will be preparing well before the competition starts.” He highlighted the unique dynamics of the IDC, especially underlining the critical role physical fitness plays in a condensed tournament format.

Despite having experienced a few setbacks recently, Mannu views the future positively, reflecting on the team’s past achievements in the Extra Premier League and their appearances in prestigious finals. “The team has had a good season so far, and we will see who we face first and prepare accordingly,” he noted. His confidence in the squad, comprised of players who’ve shown consistent performance, shines through as they gear up for what promises to be a demanding competition.

Rewa has been placed in Group B along with formidable adversaries, including Ba, Extra Premier League champions Navua, and the Nadroga Stallions. “We have a strong squad of 22 that can make it through the tournament, and I believe the boys will do their best on the field,” Mannu expressed, calling on fans to rally behind the team and fostering hope for an impressive performance in the IDC.

The FMF IDC 2025 is set to kick off next Tuesday at the 4R Stadium in Govind Park, Ba. This event has sparked excitement among fans who are eager to see Rewa vie for a chance to reestablish their standing among Fiji’s elite football teams. With robust community support and a dedicated roster, Rewa’s participation in the IDC is more than just a competitive endeavor; it serves as an opportunity to cultivate unity and pride within the local football community.
