Rewa FC head coach Priyant Manu has emphasized that the journey for his team is not yet complete as they gear up for the critical second leg of the Pillay Garments Champion vs Champion series against Labasa FC at Subrail Park today. Holding a slender 1–0 lead from the first match at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori, Manu insists that this advantage must not breed complacency, as the real challenge lies ahead.

Manu stated, “It’s only one half of the CVC done. The approach for the team remains the same. The task is to win the match, knowing we cannot allow Labasa to take the front foot in the game.” Acknowledging the difficulties posed by the upcoming match, he described Subrail Park as one of the toughest venues in the country, given the fervent support Labasa receives from their home fans.

“The players know how hard it is playing in Labasa with the backing of their fans. We have been reminding them to keep their composure and play the simplest football possible,” he added. As Labasa is expected to launch a fierce attack right from the start, Manu highlighted the importance of maintaining structure and discipline throughout the game.

“We know Labasa will attack aggressively. It’s about how smart and structured we are, with and without the ball, to overcome them. Discipline under pressure is crucial in games like this, and that’s where our senior players must lead,” he explained.

A win today would not only secure the CVC title but also set a positive tone for Rewa’s 2026 season, as they look to rebuild following the departure of several key players. According to Manu, “Winning the CVC will be a great start to 2026, especially as we introduce new boys to rebuild the team. It will build confidence for the whole squad.”

The highly anticipated second leg kicks off at 1:30pm at Subrail Park, promising an exciting clash to determine the 2026 Champion vs Champion title. With the stakes high, both teams are poised to deliver a thrilling performance for their passionate fan bases.
