Stratum Construction Rewa achieved a significant milestone by winning the FMF Inter District Championship, marking a proud moment for coach Priyant Manu as it was his first title in this prestigious tournament. The victory at Govind Park, recognized as Fiji’s home of football, carries deep meaning for Manu, especially following previous disappointments in earlier competitions, such as the Fiji FACT and the Battle of the Giants this year.
In a gripping final, Rewa demonstrated their resolve by securing a narrow 1-0 victory over RC Manubhai Ba. Reflecting on their win, Manu expressed his heartfelt gratitude, noting, “This is my first tournament win, though I won CVC; but this is my first IDC and winning it here at Govind Park is really special because of the crowd here. It was tough, but we overcame it.” He emphasized that while coaching strategies play a role, the success belongs to the players for their hard work and dedication.
Manu also conveyed his appreciation to Rewa FA President Nazeel Buksh and his team for their unwavering support of the players’ welfare throughout the tournament. As a reward for their efforts, Rewa was presented with the IDC trophy and a cash prize of $25,000.
This championship win is a continuation of Rewa’s recent strong performances, which include a successful qualification for the OFC Champions League and the capture of the 2024 Digicel Fiji Premier League title. FIFA President Gianni Infantino acknowledged the team for their dedication and relentless efforts throughout the season, culminating in significant titles just prior to the IDC triumph.
As Rewa celebrates this remarkable accomplishment, they look ahead with optimism to the upcoming challenges, building momentum from their recent successes as they prepare for the 2025 Oceania Football Championship. The team’s resilience and unity serve as a powerful reminder of their potential for future achievements.
