The Rev. Canon Katie Pearson will be returning to the All Saints by-the-Sea community for the first two Sundays in September. Hailing from Denver, Colorado, she will lead the Holy Communion services at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on both Sundays. The services will feature organ music from the skilled organist, Mr. Henry Lowe. Following each 10:00 a.m. service, there will be a time for fellowship and coffee on the chapel grounds. All are welcome to attend, regardless of their faith.
Currently serving as the Canon Pastor at St. John’s Cathedral in Denver, Rev. Pearson is responsible for various ministerial roles including Christian formation and pastoral care. She holds a Master of Divinity degree from the Iliff School of Theology and a diploma in Anglican Studies from Sewanee’s School of Theology. Before her ordination, she worked as a high school English teacher and volunteered actively. Rev. Pearson brings diverse experiences from her family’s time living in various regions of the United States and abroad. She is married to Don, and they have three adult children.
On Tuesday, September 3, from 9 to 10 a.m., Rev. Pearson will lead an informal discussion on the week’s scripture passages on the chapel’s porch. All Saints attendees and members of other local churches are encouraged to join.
All Saints by-the-Sea is located on Southport Island on All Saints Road, about two miles down the left side when traveling south on Route 238. The site is marked by an Episcopal Church sign. Visitors can find parking along Route 238 or in limited handicapped spaces off All Saints Road, with a golf cart available to transport individuals from the handicapped lot to the church entrance. The chapel dock is also accessible for those arriving by boat. While the worship season ends on September 8, the historic wood chapel will remain open for quiet prayer and meditation until mid-October.
