The Rev. Canon Katie Pearson will return to the All Saints by-the-Sea community for the first two Sundays in September. Originating from Denver, Colorado, she will officiate the Holy Communion services at 8 and 10 a.m. during both Sundays. Mr. Henry Lowe, our skilled organist, will provide music for all services. Following the 10:00 a.m. services, there will be a time for fellowship and coffee on the chapel grounds. All individuals, regardless of their faith, are welcome to attend.

As the Canon Pastor of St. John’s Cathedral in Denver, Rev. Pearson serves as a pastor, priest, and teacher under the leadership of the Dean. Her diverse ministerial roles include responsibilities in Christian formation, lay leadership, and pastoral care. She obtained her Master of Divinity degree from the Iliff School of Theology and holds a diploma in Anglican Studies from Sewanee’s School of Theology. Before her ordination, she worked as a high school English teacher and was actively involved in volunteer efforts and lay leadership. Her past experiences include living in various regions, both domestically and internationally. She is married to Don, and they have three adult children.

Rev. Pearson will also lead an informal discussion about the week’s scripture passages on the chapel’s porch on Tuesday, September 3, from 9 to 10 a.m. Attendees from All Saints and other local churches are invited to participate.

All Saints by-the-Sea is located on Southport Island at All Saints Road, about 2 miles on the left when driving south on Route 238. An Episcopal Church sign indicates the location. Parking is available along Route 238, and a limited number of handicapped spaces are accessible off All Saints Road. A golf cart service will assist guests from the handicapped parking to the church entrance. Additionally, attendees may arrive by boat, as the chapel dock is now open. Although the worship season will end on September 8, the historic wood chapel will remain open for quiet prayer and meditation until mid-October.
