The Rev. Canon Katie Pearson will return to the All Saints by-the-Sea community for the first two Sundays in September. She is coming from Denver, Colorado, where she serves at St. John’s Cathedral. Rev. Pearson will lead the Holy Communion services at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on both Sundays, with Mr. Henry Lowe providing organ music at all services. Following the 10:00 a.m. services, there will be a time for fellowship and coffee on the chapel grounds, and all individuals of faith are welcome to join.

In her role as Canon Pastor, Rev. Pearson oversees various ministerial responsibilities, including Christian formation, lay leadership, and pastoral care. She holds a Master of Divinity degree from the Iliff School of Theology and a diploma in Anglican Studies from Sewanee’s School of Theology. Before her ordination, she was a high school English teacher and an active lay leader. With extensive experiences from living in various regions, including overseas and across the U.S., she brings a rich background to her ministry. Rev. Pearson and her husband, Don, have three adult children.

On Tuesday, September 3, Rev. Pearson will facilitate an informal discussion focused on that week’s scripture passages from 9 to 10 a.m. on the chapel’s porch. All Saints members and individuals from other local churches are encouraged to participate.

All Saints by-the-Sea is located on Southport Island at All Saints Road, approximately 2 miles south on Route 238. The church is marked by a sign, and parking is available along the road, with limited handicapped spaces off All Saints Road. A golf cart service will assist those needing transportation from the handicapped parking to the church entrance. Additionally, the chapel dock is accessible for those arriving by boat. Although the worship season ends on September 8, the historic wood chapel will remain open for quiet prayer and meditation until mid-October.
