A recent listing on GameStop has sparked excitement among fans, as it seemingly unveiled a second playable character in the upcoming game, Resident Evil Requiem. The now-edited listing for the Deluxe Edition of the PC version included details about bonus content, which mentioned new skins for a character not yet publicly acknowledged.
Included in the Deluxe Edition is “The Sanctuary,” an Expansion Pass that will provide two additional story scenarios and a significant update to the Mercenaries mode. Notably, it also references a Shadow Walker Costume Pack featuring three exclusive outfits for a character named Rosemary Winters and a Morphic Visor Cosmetic Filter designed to give her visor a distinctive appearance.
Up to this point, Grace Ashcroft—a character who ties back to Resident Evil Outbreak’s Alyssa Ashcroft—was the only confirmed playable character for the game. If Rosemary Winters is indeed a part of Resident Evil Requiem, she would follow in the footsteps of past protagonists, being the daughter of Ethan Winters from Resident Evil Village.
The current details about Rosemary’s role in the game remain unclear. She could either serve as a fully playable character, a supporting companion to Grace, or fulfill a different role entirely. There’s also the possibility that GameStop’s information may have been outdated or incorrect, potentially indicating that Grace was meant to be referenced instead.
AestheticGamer, a reputable insider in the Resident Evil community, shared the listing on social media but advised fans to remain skeptical. While it was visible on GameStop’s page, they noted potential inconsistencies, urging fans to approach the information with caution.
With The Game Awards approaching soon, fans are hopeful that more concrete details regarding Resident Evil Requiem will be unveiled, providing clarity on the characters and features expected in this eagerly awaited title. Scheduled for release on February 27, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC, the anticipation surrounding this installment continues to grow.
