Resident Alien is set to return for its highly anticipated fourth season on June 6, with a unique simulcast premiere on both USA Network and Syfy. This decision retains the show’s legacy on Syfy while introducing it to a new audience on USA. The shift to USA occurred after the show faced potential cancellation at Syfy, leading to a necessary budget cut yet a successful renewal.

The story of Resident Alien revolves around Harry, a crash-landed alien navigating life on Earth, and the fourth season will see him in a precarious position, trapped on the Grey Moonbase while a shape-shifting Mantid has taken over his identity on Earth. This season promises various twists, including Harry’s escape back to Earth and his confrontation with the Mantid. Meanwhile, other characters such as Asta and D’arcy will grapple with their own secrets, while Sheriff Mike investigates mysterious deaths linked to the extraterrestrial elements brewing in the town of Patience.

This season marks a significant moment for the series as it showcases Alan Tudyk not just as lead actor but also as director for the first two episodes, marking his television directorial debut. The series, based on Dark Horse comics, features returning favorites and new guest stars, including Jewel Staite and Stephen Root.

In addition to Resident Alien, Syfy will launch another scripted series called Revival on June 12. This new show centers around a rural Wisconsin town where the deceased inexplicably rise from their graves, intertwining personal drama with a murder mystery.

Resident Alien, produced by UCP in collaboration with Amblin TV and Dark Horse Entertainment, continues to be a bridge between genres, blending comedy and science fiction. The combination of these two series highlights a promising summer for viewers looking for unique storytelling and comic adaptations.

With Resident Alien and Revival, the future appears bright for fans of innovative, genre-blending narratives.
