Wayne D. Koehler, aged 78, of Humboldt, sadly passed away at his residence on Saturday, May 17, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn, as well as his children and grandchildren: Jeff (and Ami) Koehler from Johnson, along with grandchildren Jayse, Jordan, and Brody; Matt from Omaha, with his significant other Brandi Christie and grandson Milo; and daughter Jennifer (and Zac) Borg from Lincoln, who has two children, Emmett and Mabel. Additionally, he is remembered by his son-in-law Chad Deisely from Arapahoe, whose children, Morgan (engaged to Jered Lemkau) and Tanner, will carry on his memory.
Wayne is also survived by his sister Carol (and Willis) Oestmann from Elkhorn, and brothers Gerold (and Debbie) Koehler from Joplin, MO and Roger (and Debbie) Koehler from Claremore, OK, along with sister-in-law Louella Andreesen from Auburn, brother-in-law Dave (and Betty) Norton from Filley, as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a wide circle of friends.
A funeral service to celebrate Wayne’s life will take place on Wednesday, May 21, at 10:30 a.m. at St. James (Long Branch) Lutheran Church near Humboldt. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be directed to St. James Lutheran Cemetery or another family-chosen organization.
