Rob ‘The Rabbit’ Pitts, a star of the Netflix series “Tex Mex Motors,” has passed away at the age of 45 after a battle with cancer. He died from stomach cancer on Sunday. Before his death, Pitts shared an emotional farewell on his YouTube channel, expressing his goodbyes to fans.
His videographer confirmed the date and time of his passing in the video. “Tex Mex Motors,” which featured El Paso last year, showcases two car enthusiasts on a quest to find undervalued vehicles in Mexico, restoring them for sale in the United States.
Marcos “Scooter” Carrera, one of the show’s creators and stars, expressed hopes that the series will inspire more positive initiatives in the Borderland region. He aims for “Tex-Mex Motors” to present a different perspective of El Paso, contrasting with the often negative portrayals in the media. Carrera stressed the importance of shining a light on the community to combat enduring stigmas, stating, “I want more positive things to come to the Borderland because that translates to more jobs and helps the world see us as we really are.”
The show not only emphasizes car restoration but also highlights the enthusiasm of local residents in finding and restoring classic cars.
