Rob ‘The Rabbit’ Pitts, a star of the Netflix series “Tex Mex Motors,” passed away at the age of 45 on Sunday after a courageous battle with cancer. He succumbed to stomach cancer.
Prior to his death, Pitts shared an emotional farewell video on his YouTube channel, expressing his goodbyes to his fans. His videographer confirmed the details surrounding his passing in that video.
“Tex Mex Motors,” which highlighted the beauty of El Paso and showcased local talent, follows the journey of two car enthusiasts as they seek out undervalued vehicles in Mexico to restore and sell in the United States.
Marcos “Scooter” Carrera, one of the creators and stars of the series, expressed hope that the show would lead to more positive projects in the Borderland region. He emphasized his desire for “Tex-Mex Motors” to present a different narrative about El Paso than what is typically portrayed in the news.
Carrera stated, “I want more positive things to come to the Borderland because that translates to more jobs and allows the world to see us the way we really are, helping to dispel the negative stigma we have.” He added that the series not only focuses on car restoration but also ignites interest among El Paso residents in owning classic vehicles.
