The family of Phil Robertson, affectionately known as “The Duck Commander,” has announced his passing at the age of 79. Phil, a beloved patriarch, was not just an influential figure in the duck hunting community but also a dedicated family man and devout Christian, whose life was characterized by hard work, faith, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones.
Born on April 24, 1946, in Vivian, Louisiana, Phil was the fifth of seven children in the Robertson family. He experienced a pivotal transformation at the age of 28 after finding faith, which inspired him to cultivate a life filled with love for hunting, family, and his belief in God. His marriage to high school sweetheart Kay Carroway marked the beginning of a life dedicated to family values and deep-rooted principles.
Phil’s journey included struggles, but the steadfast faith of his wife and a supportive sister helped him turn his life around. Once transformed by his faith, Phil became a powerful evangelist, sharing his love for Jesus and baptizing thousands, impacting countless lives along the way.
In 1972, he invented a double-reeded duck call, leading to the creation of his company, Duck Commander.
