The Dominican Summer League showcased an impressive performance from the Reds’ farm system on Thursday, with both teams securing significant victories.
The DSL Reds triumphed with a commanding 14-3 win. Notably, Adolfo Sanchez stood out offensively, going 3-for-5, including a double, a triple, and contributing two RBIs alongside a stolen base and a walk. Diorland Zambrano also had a strong showing, hitting 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Nayerich Waterfort hit a home run, going 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs. In addition, Naibel Mariano added to the team’s success with another home run and two RBIs.
On the mound, Ryjeteri Merite pitched for two innings, allowing two hits and managing to strike out three batters despite giving up three walks. Jhan Almeida performed well in relief, pitching three innings without allowing any walks, surrendering three hits and striking out one.
Meanwhile, the DSL Rojos secured a convincing win of their own, finishing off their game with an 11-2 score.
