Reddit is making significant strides into the sports marketing arena with the announcement of several partnerships with prominent sports leagues, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, PGA Tour, and NASCAR.
Starting Monday, Reddit users will benefit from exclusive access to video highlights from various games, player AMA sessions (Ask Me Anything), behind-the-scenes content, and other special material shared by the leagues throughout their respective seasons and major events.
The platform boasts more than 1,000 active communities focused on sports, with a notable 26% increase in screenviews within these forums over the past year, highlighting a growing interest among its user base.
The sports marketing sector is projected to grow by over 20%, reaching a valuation of more than $55 billion by 2030, with fans increasingly turning to platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter) for sports-related content.
In an effort to boost its revenue ahead of a potential public offering, Reddit recently entered a $60 million annual AI licensing agreement with Google. Following the announcement of these new sports partnerships, Reddit’s shares rose nearly 7% on Monday.
