Reddit is making significant inroads into the sports marketing industry.

On Monday, the social media platform unveiled new partnerships with several major sports leagues, including the National Football League (NFL), National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB), PGA Tour, and the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR).

As part of these collaborations, Reddit users will gain access to a variety of engaging content such as game highlights, player AMAs (ask me anything sessions), behind-the-scenes videos, and other exclusive material shared by the leagues during their seasons and key events.

The platform boasts over 1,000 active sports communities, with a noticeable surge in user interest. According to Reddit, views on sports-related forums rose by 26% in the past year.

The sports marketing sector is projected to expand by more than 20%, reaching over $55 billion by 2030, as fans increasingly turn to platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter) for sports content.

Reddit has actively pursued new revenue sources as it prepares for a potential public offering. Earlier this year, the company reached a $60 million annual AI licensing agreement with Google. Following a successful IPO, Reddit reported first-quarter revenues nearly 50% higher than the previous year. The announcement of the new sports partnerships resulted in a nearly 7% increase in Reddit shares on Monday.
