Reddit Scores Big: New Partnerships Set to Transform Sports Marketing

Reddit is making significant strides into the sports marketing arena with the announcement of new partnerships with several prominent sports leagues, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, PGA Tour, and NASCAR.

Starting Monday, Reddit users can look forward to access to a variety of content, including game and tournament video highlights, player “Ask Me Anything” sessions, behind-the-scenes videos, and additional exclusive content shared by the leagues during their seasons and major events.

The platform has highlighted that it hosts over 1,000 active communities centered around sports, with a notable increase in engagement. The site’s metrics show a 26% rise in screenviews for sports-related forums over the past year.

The sports marketing industry is projected to grow by more than 20%, reaching a market value exceeding $55 billion by 2030. Fans are increasingly consuming sports content via platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and X (formerly known as Twitter).

In an effort to boost revenue ahead of its anticipated IPO, Reddit recently secured a $60 million annual AI licensing agreement with Google. Following the announcement of the new sports partnerships, Reddit’s shares experienced a nearly 7% increase.
