Red Lobster is welcoming fans back to its Crabfest with some exciting new offerings, including seafood boils for the very first time. The renowned restaurant confirmed to Food & Wine that this popular Southern tradition will now be part of the experience, available starting today.
A seafood boil is known for its communal dining experience, where a rich assortment of seafood and vegetables is typically served in a large bag and is characterized by its flavorful butter-based sauces. Red Lobster has two distinct options for diners: the Mariner’s Boil and the Sailor’s Boil. The Mariner’s Boil features Maine lobster tail, a dozen shrimp, snow crab, corn, and red potatoes, while the Sailor’s Boil leans into the Louisiana style with shrimp, smoked sausage, corn, and red potatoes to create a spicy and hearty meal.
This launch comes at a time when seafood boils have gained popularity, with other chains also innovating around this classic dish. For instance, earlier this month, Publix introduced a more affordable version of the seafood medley, catering to a wider audience.
In addition to the seafood boils, Red Lobster is rolling out five new menu items as part of this year’s Crabfest, enhancing its offerings across nearly 600 locations. New items include Crabby Stuffed Mushrooms designed for sharing, crab-topped potatoes and asparagus as sides, and a choice of steak or salmon Oscar, which features a delectable creamy topping.
Guests can also enjoy limited-time cocktails such as the Purple Haze by Dre & Snoop or the Passion Star Spritz, adding a festive touch to the dining experience.
This culinary celebration not only highlights the rich traditions of Southern cuisine but also provides an excellent opportunity for friends and family to gather, whether indulging together or enjoying a personal feast. With its vibrant atmosphere and delicious offerings, a visit to Red Lobster during Crabfest is sure to be a delightful experience.
