Rewa House emerged victorious at the 2025 QVSOB Druavesi Golf Tournament, securing the esteemed Druavesi Trophy at the Fiji Golf Club in Suva. With a combined score of 116 points between their two teams, Rewa House outshone their competitors to take home the title.
The winning teams featured distinguished alumni including Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, Tomasi Tuitoga, Trevor Nainoca, and Jiujiu Leca from Rewa One, alongside Alipate Vosaicake, Tupou Leca, DA Echo, and Serevi Vanalagi from Rewa Two. Verata House was a close second with 118.125 points, trailed by Tovata House at 127.875 and Bau House at 129.125.
In the overall standings, the Grammar Lions claimed the top spot with a score of 55.38, constituted by players Sikipio Fihaki, Laisa Digitaki, Masi Naupoto, and Samu Ratubuli. Marist Two followed in second place with 55.875 points, while Rewa Two, featuring Vosaicake, Leca, Vanalagi, and Echo, rounded out the top three with 56.75 points.
This year’s tournament marked its 32nd edition and set a record by attracting 92 participants from 23 teams, highlighting the event’s increasing popularity and support within the alumni community. Organized by the QVS Old Boys Association, the tournament aims to cultivate unity and nation-building among former students from various institutions beyond Queen Victoria School.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, also an alumnus of Queen Victoria School, commended the tournament for enhancing community spirit. He noted its importance as a platform for alumni to reconnect and contribute to discussions on Fiji’s development. He encouraged greater participation in future events, particularly from alumni families, emphasizing that the tournament transcends golf competition, serving as a celebration of camaraderie and community involvement.
Teams from several schools, including Marist Old Boys and Suva Grammar School, participated in this year’s event, demonstrating inclusivity and camaraderie among alumni. This positive atmosphere reaffirms the role of sports in strengthening community bonds and inspiring future generations to engage in these treasured traditions. The success of the 2025 Druavesi Golf Tournament sets an optimistic foundation for even greater participation and enjoyment in the years ahead.
