Amy Slaton, a reality TV personality known for her role on TLC’s “1000-Lb. Sisters,” was arrested at a wildlife park in Tennessee on Monday for alleged illegal drug possession and child endangerment.

The incident took place at the Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo, Tennessee, where deputies from the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office were called after a report that a guest, later identified as the 36-year-old Slaton, had been bitten by a camel. Upon their arrival, deputies detected suspicious odors emanating from Slaton’s vehicle.

Slaton, who has two children, Gage, 3, and Glenn, 2, with her former husband Michael Halterman, was taken into custody on charges of “illegal possession of Schedule I and Schedule VI drugs,” as well as two counts of child endangerment.

Alongside her, Brian Scott Lovvorn, who was in the vehicle, was also arrested on the same charges. Both individuals were booked into the Crockett County Jail.

In a statement, the sheriff’s office noted that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Slaton and Lovvorn were assigned bonds set at $10,000 each by Crockett County General Sessions Judge Paul Conley.

A representative for Slaton has yet to comment on the situation.

The Slaton sisters, Amy and Tammy, gained fame through YouTube and later received their own reality show, which began airing in January 2020. The series focused on their weight loss journeys and personal lives, including Amy’s struggles with motherhood and her subsequent gastric bypass surgery. Since then, Amy has welcomed both of her sons and has dealt with significant life changes, including a recent divorce.

The show’s latest season captures the ongoing challenges the sisters have faced, including the passing of Tammy’s husband, Caleb Willingham, who died in June 2023 at age 40 due to complications from obesity. Tammy recently shared a heartfelt tribute to her late husband on social media, expressing her grief and gratitude for their time together.
