The franchise has announced that Tim Seifert, a wicketkeeper-batter from New Zealand, will join the team on May 24. Seifert has been signed for ₹2 crore and is expected to fill the gap left by Bethell. The 30-year-old cricketer has experience in T20 cricket, having played 66 matches and scored 1540 runs, with a top score of 97*. His T20 career includes 10 half-centuries, with a commendable record of 131 fours and 80 sixes, alongside 36 catches.

According to the updated IPL rules for 2025, players signed as temporary replacements following the suspension will not be eligible for retention for the next season. This reflects the league’s efforts to balance competition while accommodating international commitments.
