An R&B singer known as Jaheim, whose full name is Jaheim Hoagland, has faced legal trouble following the discovery of several neglected dogs in his RV by Fulton County police and animal control. He was arrested on May 1 and charged with six counts of animal cruelty, later released on a $35,000 bond.

The investigation began on April 27 when animal control was alerted to a malnourished dog found wandering in the Buckhead Village District. Officers responding to the scene found the dog tied up at the rear of Hoagland’s RV. When approached, Hoagland allegedly confronted the officers aggressively, asserting they were trespassing.

The following day, animal control returned to the RV, where Hoagland filmed the encounter and claimed harassment. He argued that his dog appeared skinny due to its age; however, when he released the animal from its kennel, officers observed that the dog was severely emaciated.

An additional complaint about another dog in poor condition prompted authorities to act. On May 1, officers located Hoagland’s RV at the Hyatt Centric Buckhead Atlanta, where they executed a search warrant. Inside, they discovered multiple dogs, including three 10-week-old puppies and three additional dogs that were significantly underweight and living in unsanitary conditions, with kennels filled with waste and no ventilation.

This incident is not Hoagland’s first run-in with animal cruelty allegations. In 2021, he faced charges in Maryland where he was accused of keeping 15 dogs in unsettling conditions.

All the dogs have since been removed from the RV and are now under the care of an animal shelter. This situation highlights the ongoing issue of animal neglect and the importance of responsible pet ownership.
