STILLWATER, Okla. — Arkansas football faced a setback on Saturday against No. 17 Oklahoma State, suffering a 39-31 loss in overtime after squandering a 14-point halftime lead. The Razorbacks (1-1) failed to capitalize on their first half dominance and were plagued by four turnovers and an ineffective offense in the second half. Despite racking up 648 total yards compared to Oklahoma State’s 395, the Razorbacks stumbled in crucial moments.

Oklahoma State (2-0) turned the tide in the second half, scoring two pivotal touchdowns following a missed field goal and a muffed punt by Arkansas in the fourth quarter. The decisive moment came when Oklahoma State’s Ollie Gordon II scored on a 12-yard rushing touchdown, sealing the victory.

Arkansas initially performed well, with Ja’Quinden Jackson rushing for three touchdowns and totaling 139 yards on 22 carries. Quarterback Taylen Green contributed significantly with 407 passing yards and 61 rushing yards, but his play was marked by inconsistency.

As the game unfolded, both teams exchanged leads and momentum shifts. Oklahoma State’s drive in the fourth quarter included a field goal by Logan Ward, giving them a brief lead before Arkansas tied the game with a last-minute field goal from Kyle Ramsey, sending the match to overtime. However, after both teams missed field goal attempts, a personal foul penalty on Arkansas allowed Oklahoma State to secure the win.

In a thrilling game filled with momentum swings and missed opportunities, the Razorbacks’ strong first half was overshadowed by their inability to maintain control in the later stages, ultimately leading to their defeat.
