Razorbacks Aim for Dominance in Final Series Against Volunteers

The No. 8 Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team (41-11, 18-9 SEC) is set to conclude its regular season at home against the No. 17 Tennessee Volunteers (40-13, 15-12 SEC) this weekend at Baum-Walker Stadium. The series begins on Thursday, May 15, at 7 p.m. on ESPN2, with games on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. broadcasted on SEC Network+ and SEC Network respectively.

Entering the final games, Arkansas has secured its eighth consecutive season with at least 40 wins, a notable achievement that positions it as the only SEC program to do so over these recent years. The Razorbacks currently sit in second place within the SEC standings, just two games behind Texas and looking to clinch their sixth season with 20 or more SEC wins. The Hogs have demonstrated dominance in the last 12 meetings against Tennessee, with a record of 10-2 since 2017, and have not lost a weekend series against them since 2005.

The pitching matchups for the series include Tennessee’s Marcus Phillips (3-4, 3.55 ERA) facing Arkansas’s Zach Root (6-3, 3.88 ERA) in the opening game. Other pitchers for the series will be announced subsequently.

Additionally, the Gators will hold Senior Night on Friday, honoring players such as Carson Boles, Dylan Carter, Kendall Diggs, Logan Maxwell, Will McEntire, and Rocco Peppi prior to the game.

With a notable history against Tennessee, especially at home where they sport a 22-10 record, Arkansas is looking to extend its five-game winning streak against the Volunteers. The Razorbacks boast a strong offensive showing, already hitting 102 home runs this season, making them one of the top teams nationally in that category.

Fans are encouraged to tune in to the broadcasts and support the team as they work towards a successful conclusion to the regular season and position themselves favorably for the postseason ahead.
