Ravens vs. Raiders: Who Will Avoid an 0-2 Start?

Two teams looking to avoid an 0-2 start will compete this Sunday as the Raiders visit the Ravens in Baltimore.

The Ravens are coming off a thrilling season-opening defeat to the Chiefs, which ended on the final play when Baltimore’s tight end Isaiah Likely fell just short of scoring to extend the game into overtime. Meanwhile, the Raiders suffered a loss to the Chargers in Week 1 after conceding two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Las Vegas struggled last week despite a strong performance from quarterback Gardner Minshew, who completed nearly 76% of his passes and outperformed his counterpart, Justin Herbert, with an additional 113 passing yards. However, the Raiders faced challenges with four sacks and a struggling running game. On the other side, the Raiders defense was overwhelmed by the Chargers, who amassed 176 rushing yards while averaging 6.5 yards per carry.

Here are the details on how to watch the game live, as well as our prediction for its outcome.

Prediction

I’m leaning towards the Ravens for the win, but I’m also intrigued to see which of Baltimore’s skill players will rise to the occasion. Derrick Henry needs to contribute more significantly after only rushing for 46 yards in his inaugural game with the Ravens. Likely had a standout performance against the Chiefs, and running back Justice Hill also made some contributions in the passing game. Conversely, other receivers had limited impact, as Rashod Bateman and Zay Flowers combined to catch just over half of their 15 targets for 90 yards. Mark Andrews, returning from a season-ending injury last year, managed only two receptions in Week 1.

Baltimore is expected to have a more balanced offensive display from their skill players, and their defense should effectively contain Minshew and his teammates. Anticipate the Ravens’ defense focusing on limiting Davante Adams, a standard strategy for defenses facing Las Vegas.

Score Prediction: Ravens 24, Raiders 13
