Ravens Soar to Victory: Jackson Shines on Christmas Day

The Baltimore Ravens delivered a commanding performance against the Houston Texans on Christmas Day, securing a 31-2 victory. Quarterback Lamar Jackson, a contender for the MVP award, shone brightly, completing 10 of 15 passes for 168 yards and throwing two touchdown passes. Additionally, he contributed significantly on the ground with 87 rushing yards and another touchdown.

Supporting Jackson was an impressive running game led by Derrick Henry, who rushed 27 times for 147 yards and found the end zone once. Collectively, the Ravens’ rushing attack totaled 251 yards on 43 attempts.

In contrast, Houston’s quarterback C.J. Stroud encountered difficulties, finishing the game with 17 completions on 31 attempts for 185 yards, failing to score a touchdown, and throwing one interception. Stroud was pressured throughout the game, facing five sacks.

The Ravens started strong, marching downfield on an eight-play, 75-yard drive that ended in a touchdown. Following a punt from the Texans, Baltimore extended its lead to 10-0 with a field goal. The only first-half score for Houston was a safety during the second quarter, but that was quickly overshadowed when Baltimore executed a 99-yard touchdown drive, concluding the half with a 17-2 advantage.

The second half saw Stroud intercepted on Houston’s opening drive, which the Ravens capitalized on with another touchdown. After forcing a quick three-and-out from the Texans, Baltimore extended their lead to 31-2 with a 10-play scoring drive.

This victory propelled the Ravens to first place in the AFC North following the Pittsburgh Steelers’ earlier loss, and they currently hold the third overall spot in the conference. Baltimore will look to maintain momentum in their final regular-season matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Meanwhile, despite the setback, the Texans, with a record of 9-7, have already secured the AFC South title and will round off their season against the Tennessee Titans.

This match not only showcased the Ravens’ strength as they approach the playoffs but also emphasized their efficiency on both the offensive and defensive sides of the game. As the season winds down, both teams will be looking to refine their strategies and secure their positions for the postseason.
