Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Tee Martin will not be returning to his role as quarterbacks coach with the Baltimore Ravens. This decision comes as the Ravens, under new head coach Jesse Minter, look to change the direction of their coaching staff. According to a report by Jordan Schultz, Martin’s departure follows a stint in which he had been part of the Ravens’ coaching team since 2023, originally serving as their wide receivers coach before transitioning to quarterbacks coach.

Earlier this offseason, Martin was considered for offensive coordinator positions with both the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders but was not selected for those roles. As the Ravens adjust to the recent changes, including the hiring of former offensive coordinator Todd Monken as head coach of the Cleveland Browns, it remains a possibility that Martin could follow Monken to another rival within the AFC North.

At 47 years old, Martin has a rich coaching history. He has spent the past five seasons with the Ravens and previously held coaching roles at the University of Tennessee and the University of Southern California (USC). During his tenure at USC, Martin worked under a variety of head coaches, including Lane Kiffin and Ed Orgeron, contributing to the development of numerous successful players.

Martin began his NFL journey as a fifth-round draft pick by the Steelers in 2000. During his two-year playing career in Pittsburgh, he served primarily as a backup, participating in just one game during the 2001 season. After his time with the Steelers, Martin played in NFL Europe before concluding his playing days in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Following his playing career, Martin quickly transitioned into coaching, beginning at Morehouse College in 2006. His path through various coaching positions has set a solid foundation for his career, and while his time with the Ravens has come to an end, the future holds potential opportunities for him within the league.
